FRENGER DEVELOP AIR ONLY MSIB FOR NFU MUTUAL HQ

Air Only Multi-Service Chilled Beam

Frenger has supplied several hundred Multi-Service Induction Beams (MSIB's) to the newly refurbished NFU Mutual Headquarters in Stratford-upon-Avon. These MSIB units are a bespoke variation of Frenger's MSCB's (Multi-Service Chilled Beams). MSIB's are primarily designed to provide fresh air with low noise and to provide LED lighting to the office space, but unlike MSCB's have no integral heat exchanger, so provide no waterside cooling.

MSIB's have many of the desirable features of MSCB units, such as incorporating many building services into single 'Plug n Play' units with off-site pre-fabrication, factory tested and commissioned to reduce on site installation programme time and guarantee coordination of all services incorporated. These multi-disciplined units also provide visually stunning architectural aesthetics as the main features of the space.

NFU Mutual Headquarters, based in Stratford-upon-Avon, has undergone a significate refurbishment to accommodate 900 members of staff. The refurbishments include the replacement of much of the mechanical and electrical services. Emphasis for the project was placed on creating a sustainable low energy building while maintaining high levels of internal comfort. To achieve this, replacement of the natural ventilation system was given the highest priority. Solutions were assessed by enhanced dynamic thermal modelling services and Frenger's MSIB units were selected.
